This clear glass candy container features a seated driver sitting on top of a large barrel of water.. The barrel has wood planks to imitate wood with bands to hold the planks together. The back of the barrel is open and is threaded to accommodate the screw on metal (tin) cap closure. Beneath the barrel are two spoked wheels. The mule or donkey has two prominent ears (like a real donkey or mule). The tail of the donkey is over to one side over the hip and hind quarters of the donkey.
Material: Vintage Pressed Glass; Replaced Metal/Tin Cap; Paper Insert to the Cap
Colors: Glass is clear. The remaining paint on the glass is brown on the donkey, black on the driver, and yellow on the wheels. The exterior of the replaced cap is tan and brown – at least, I think it is replaced since it is not green. The interior of the cap is silverish and metal grayish. The insert is a yellowed white.
Approximate Creation Date: 1936 or before
Creator: Avor Glass
Where Manufactured: Jeannette, PA USA
Approximate dimensions in inches: 4 3/4 long with cap on x 1 1/4 wide at the barrel end x 2 5/8 tall
Markings: The markings are very, very, light – but they are there. Marked on one side: “JNET, PA / U. S. A.” (the Capital S is backwards). Marked on bottom between the two wheels: Once again, very light. “OZ. /AVOR”.
Condition: Very Good Vintage Condition.
Glass - It is as it was created. It has no chips, cracks, fractures, or repairs. There are stretch marks around the opening, but that was created when the glass was cooling. When I say no chips. I mean it. Please look at the ears, the driver, and all the hooves. It is truly amazing that this little gcc has lasted this long with no chips. I have had it in my curio cabinet behind glass on the top shelf in the rear on felt so that clutsy me would not knick it. That is the only reason it is still in one piece.
Replaced Cap - The screw cap is tight. You can still twist it on and off and fits on nicely, but it is tight. It fits like any ther screw cap would fit. I have a couple of replicas of this gcc and their caps fit the same way – a bit tight. On the outside of the cap – on the end – it looks like there was some writing put on it. I am not sure what it was, but it looks like there was some writing on it at one time. Other than that, the outside is good. The wear on the outside of the cap is minimal. On the inside of the cap, there is wear and discoloration. The insert is faded and has slight wear.
Cold Applied Paint to the Glass – There is paint missing on the driver, the donkey, and the wheels. Probably 75% of it is still there.
Please look at all the pictures and use the zoom. I am limited on the number of pictures that I can use, so I am stuck using the quadrants. Sorry, nothing I can do about it. Please use the zoom. Although, you will never be able to read the markings on the barrels because I can barely read them with a magnifying glass and they are quite faint, but at least you will be able to see that they exist.
You will receive this exact glass candy container.
I ship using USPS or UPS - whichever is QUICK and least expensive..

Information retained by AtMemoryLane includes the information that is part of an electronic sale. This sale could be in the Etsy marketplace at my shop, called AtMemoryLane, or it could be in my Etsy pattern shop, also called AtMemoryLane. The information that is included is information that has been provided by the buyer – which is their name and address. Additionally, any messages sent to the seller via the Etsy conversation system will also be retained on the Etsy site. None of this information is used for any type of marketing, spamming, or solicitation on my part. (And I will not be sending you a Christmas card either.) The information is and was used exclusively for your transaction. The financial information (credit card info) is not provided to the sellers on Etsy so there is nothing to worry about there. Contact information (your name and address) is used exclusively to contact you regarding the items you purchased (if need be), to fulfill your order, and if necessary for legal reasons (for instance for tax purposes). We, Etsy sellers, do not have access to your billing address if it is different from your mailing address. As noted above, Etsy is the only one that even has access to that information; sellers on Etsy do not.

Thank you for reading this.
All orders received by 8:00 PM Eastern Time are processed (mailed) the next day. I usually drop off packages at the post office in the morning six days a week; I normally drop off packages to the UPS drop off point in the afternoon five days a week.
- Etsy does not have a system where we can list UPS as an alternative. I ship via USPS or UPS, whichever is least expensive and quickest. I refund shipping overages paid by you.
If the shipping calculation is over by more than 50 cents, I will reimburse you. Yup, I will reimburse you 50 cents.
If the shipping calculator is under by any amount, you will not know about it; that is, I will not request that you make any further payment because of an error of mine, the calculator, or the system.
My normal hours seven days a week are 1:00 - 9:00 PM. I answer questions within two hours during this time.
On my off hours, I will normally return your question as soon as I open up for the day.
I do not operate with any smart devices - only dumb ones, as they simply do not work in dead zones, so I periodically throughout my day check the old desktop.

Returns can be made for any reason whatsoever. You will receive the original cost of the item and the original shipping. I do not charge a bogus restocking fee. Be aware that the cost to return the item (shipping) will not be reimbursed to you.
As you may or may not be aware, shipping insurance benefits the seller. I normally pay for the insurance, if any. The only time, you (the buyer) would pay for the insurance is if YOU request it.
I do not normally buy additional insurance as I tend to pack for a nuclear blast...or, at least, for war.
